Bollywood fans already speak in film references, so a word game built on them was bound to happen. The Bollywood pack deals the 25-word Codenames board from more than 270 words that are widely known across India: films like Lagaan and Dangal, stars like Amitabh and Madhuri, famous characters like Mogambo, Gabbar and Basanti, songs, and the language of the industry itself, such as Interval, Item song and Filmfare.

That changes how clues work. A spymaster might tie MOGAMBO and GABBAR together with VILLAIN 2, or link a star to the film that made them, and the arguments that follow are half the fun.

The rules don't change. Two teams, a secret key on each spymaster's phone, one-word clues and a single assassin. It suits 4 to 20 players, which makes it a strong pick for a Diwali party, a kitty party or an office team that knows its cinema.

How it differs

The default Classic pack uses everyday words like TIGER, CASTLE and PIANO. The Bollywood pack replaces them with films, stars, characters, songs and film-industry words, so good clues lean on film knowledge as well as wordplay. Mixed shuffles both packs together. Teams, rules and timers stay the same.

Questions

What kind of words are in the Bollywood pack?

Films, actors, singers, iconic characters, songs and film-industry words that are widely known in India, from SHOLAY-era villains like GABBAR to words like BOX OFFICE and PLAYBACK.

Do you need to be a Bollywood expert to play?

No. The pack sticks to well-known names and titles. Having a few film buffs on each team helps, and Mixed is a good middle ground for a varied group.

Some words have a space in them. Can clues have spaces too?

No. Board words like BIG B or ITEM SONG can be two words, but every clue must still be a single word, letters only.

Is the Bollywood pack family-friendly?

Yes. It's made to be played with the whole family.

Can we mix Bollywood and everyday words?

Yes. Pick the Mixed pack and the board is dealt from both lists.
